I believe it has the Thunderbolt 3 port, since it has the USB-C interface, not the old Thunderbolt 2 interface that was on Apple laptops prior to 2016. The functionality of the port includes 4k output, as I am using an external Dell 4k monitor at 60hz connected to the USB-C port via an adapter cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it has one Thunderbolt 3 port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Asus prints a Thunderbolt logo on the port, but it is not a TB3 port or at least a functioning TB3 port. Only display works via this port. Power charging does not work at all and USB devices keep freezing or disconnecting every other second. It is impossible to use USB devices via this port when this starts to happen. When an external display is connected and in Display setting you have chosen to display the desktop on this monitor only, then this problem gets really worse. Do not buy this laptop if TB3 port is very important to you. I learned it the hard way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If this model is the same as the Q524UQ be aware that the thunderbolt does not upgrade to a recent version of the NVM firmware (stuck on version 3 instead of 21) so does not work with external raid enclosures. If anyone has gotten it to work, what version of the NVM firmware is the thunderbolt driver software reporting?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no "old" thunderbolt 3. You mean thunderbolt 2 I'm guessing? But yes ithas1 thunderbolt 3.
