I’ve had this happen to me when I plugged in my headphones for the first time. I’m not sure if this is a consistent remedy for everyone with no sound issues, but for me this method worked. There should be a pop up window on the bottom left that says what is this device when first plugging in a speaker or headphones. You have to choose one of the option on the drop down box or otherwise it doesn’t seem it recognizes it. I believe this is just a windows 10 thing. If the pop up window doesn’t show maybe try removing it the device from your laptop through device manager then retrying the method listed above. I’m not saying this is definitely ur solution, but it helped me.
