Actually, the responder to this was wrong. I was able to buy a Crucial SSD CT525MX300SSD4 internal drive that installs in a slot on this computer. Once I installed the SSD drive (removed the back cover, slipped it into the slot and used a screw to hold it in place) I was able to clone the original drive to this one and now the computer boots quickly and performance is as expected, with the original 2TB drive as storage but with the operation system and cache on the SSD drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, you can't add an SSD to this laptop while keeping the HDD... But you CAN replace the HDD with an SSD. Laptops rarely have extra hookups for a secondary drive, much less the physical space for one. If you really want the 2TB of storage, get an external drive with USB 3.0 or better, and put an SSD in your laptop. The hard drive that this thing comes with is absolutely useless.
