Yes. Any time you see a current drive that says it a DVD-RW drive, it should be able to read any type of CD or DVD (CD, CD-R, DVD, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW), with the exception of Blu-Ray or other high definition video type discs. If you want Blu-Ray, make sure you see that it says that it is supported specifically.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My machine has WIndows Media Player. Alot of things I have noticed are not on the start menu. You have to dig.. If I can remember I right clicked on the Windows icon where it said desktop and it is now on the left side of my screen with a little arrow. It shows the whole menu like Windows 7. Not sure if can play a DVD but I can play my music. Will try DVD and update this later.
