• Very Good. Single core operations score high. Which is what Autocad uses, and I use autocad on it.

• Likely so if you don't mind its size. It meets the recommended guidelines put out by LSU for their engineering coursework. It has a dedicated video card, i7 processor, DVD drive, and large hard drive. Just be aware that it is a bit larger and heavier than the Ultrabook/Mac Air type laptops carried by many students (but many of those will choke on engineering software).
