• Yes, it is in fact a i7 5500u, there is a older model with the 4510u . Both units look the same its just the processor.

• This laptop has the 5th-gen i7 5500u CPU. Be aware that BestBuy also still shows a similar-optioned Asus laptop (model nbr ending in 706) that uses the 4th-Gen i7 CPU.
