As long as your cable box has HDMI output it will work just like any other TV.

I do have a Gateway PC and monitor that will let you do exactly what you are looking for. It also has a remote so you can watch and control PC/TV function from across the room. You might want to keep searching for monitor with the features you want/need. However, this monitor is very nice monitor for the price.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's better to get a 27 or 32 inch 1080p Television and use your HDMI output on your PC's video card. Most flat TVs have a PC Monitor connector as well so you may have that optiion for connecting.
