does it make a dark area brighter null

The monitor is plenty bright. I often work in my study without other lights on and it does illuminate my desk area well.

This is a great monitor with a great picture. Picture is clear and crisp as it possibly can be for a 1080 p screen. It's great for gaming console/pc due to the 1 ms response time.
