The ability to rotate what is displayed on the monitor is not a function of the monitor, but of the computer/software sending an image to the monitor. So, you'll have to check with surface to see what's possible. As for mounting the monitor on the wall or switching the orientation, the included base will only accommodate horizontal orientation. If you want vertical orientation you will need to provide an appropriate VESA mount.
