Yes. The RW in DVDRW means that the drive is able to Read and Write. When you buy blank DVDs, RW means that the disc is rewritable. It can be reformatted and reused multiple times. An R by itself means Recordable. I don't know why this one is used. A blank disc that isn't recordable would only be a coaster. -R means that it's a single session disc; you can only write to it once. +R means it's multi session; you can write to it several times or until it's full.
