I have been in the same situation. I googled for the solution, but nothing works! I have done everything .. restart, hard restart, powerwash.... everything they say to do online. Another thing they say is turn off the OS keyboard in the Accessibility section of settings. But there is no option on this Chromebook to turn it off !!... The settings don't mention anything about how to switch from tablet to laptop. I am so disappointed in this Chromebook.
