“I normally have a backup-CD created from the initial Windows INSTALL. So if I have to do fresh re-Install, I can just use the CD to start over with my user installation. Without a DVD drive, how will a backup re-installation be possible on THIS laptop?”

• You'll have to get an external CD/DVD drive and plug it in to the USB port. Another option would be to backup to a USB thumb drive.

• Use an external optical drive or load what is on the CD onto a USB drive and run it from there

• you can save your Windows Install to a flash drive and use the flash drive in place of the CD. same process, just different memory storage USB vs CD.

• You can create a recovery ISO file and then use that to make a bootable USB. There are instructions on how to do it.
