Your question is if you can "ADD" a SSD. The answer has not been reported yet. Here are the Facts: You can *swap* the HDD out for a SSD. ALSO: There is an additional M.2 (M(dot)2) connector on the motherboard. However, if the connection has not been soldered at manufacturing, the answer is no (you can test for voltage with a VOM). If the bay is too small, the answer is no. If neither of those conditions are true: then the answer would be yes. (The 'Q' model one up from this does in fact have a SSD AND a HDD). Unfortunately, ASUS will not tell you because adding a SSD voids the warranty, so they 'JUST SAY NO' like it is a campaign to stay off drugs or something. They have not ever answered upgrade questions honestly. ELSE: you will have to wait for someone to actually try it and report the result (Please Do Anyone, we are on our own with this type of "support" from ASUS).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes, buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/apricorn-data-transfer-cable-gray/3459621.p?id=1218404120715, and buy an SSD (preferably Samsung evo 850 500gb or higher, it comes with cloning software). have geek squad do it or you can do it yourself. you will need star keys to crack the back of the case open (T4)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes you can. just make sure you clone or fresh install on the new SSD
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is confusing. Can a SSD be installed, or not. One answer says yes, and then the next says no. And from recent conversation with ASUS, these days I feel ASUS employees have no more expertise on ASUS laptops than any other retailer employee. Last time I spoke with ASUS customer service, and with ASUS technical support, (about a month ago) it was a phillipino lady located at a call center in Manilla and she did not know ASUS product specs very well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can. I plan on updating mine to the Samsung 1TB SSD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The salesperson told me I could add one later, but the Geek Squad would have to do it in-store, not easily done on your own.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you cannot add SSD on this model unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
