“I have the asus q524u laptop....I cant find windows media player to rip my cd's from a cd drive into my laptop....do I have to down load windows media player or should I use iTunes?”

Medial player was installed but M$ wanted to force people to their newer, less capable player. You should be able to access media player, click the start button and type "media". Then create a shortcut. Do yourself a favor and do not install itunes on your computer. Ever.
