QuestionDoes this have a slot to add an additional SSD drive like the Q534UX model? Can it have both an SSD drive and the 2TB drive that it comes with?

- Answer Yes it can an M.2 SSD I used a 128GB Intel 600p NVMe M.2 SSD along with the 2TB HDD that came with it. You will need a 2mm x 3mm screw to screw on the board, more than likely you won't find this in your local hardware store and will need to order online.

QuestionPlease provide meaningful details about the processor. "i7" doesn't tell you much... What generation is this Core i7 processor? 6th? 7th? What is the processing speed? ie. i7-6500U? i7-7500U?? 2.5 gigahertz or 2.7 gigahertz? Argh.

QuestionCan someone tell me how their hinges are holding up & how long you've owned it for? I've been reading reviews & apparently hinges are prone to breaking.

- Answer I've owned this laptop for one month. The hinge has performed as expected so far. When opening the laptop there is firm resistance. The screen stays where I set it. The hinge does feel like some type of composite plastic. I have dropped the laptop once already. The laptop took the hit like a champ.

- Answer it is compatible with windows ink but the bamboo pen doesn't work with it ... just found out by buying it and the pen and it doesn't work.

- Answer It's a subwoofer, and the full system manual is on the computer in the ASUS folder in the Start menu.

QuestionI want to upgrade the RAM from the original 12 to maximum capacity. Crucial scan says I can upgrade to 24, so I assume I would replace the 4gb stick with a 16 stick. BUT Asus now tells me it is already maxed at 12! Does anyone have a definitive answer???

- Answer Yes to 24 GB. I replaced the 4 GB stick with a 16 GB stick from Crucial, works perfectly.

- Answer Yes, it is backlit, FN+F3,F4 will decrease-increase backlight brightness, or turn it on/off

- Answer It comes with a slow 2TB drive that can easily get locked up if numerous applications are reading and writing data. As for the CPU, you really need to try hard to max out Core i7, however, in extreme power saving modes it will crawl, so when my battery goes to 10% and then 7% it becomes impossible to work.

QuestionI have two questions: (1) do you miss having a CD / DVR drive? (2) does the fan constantly run like it does on my HP laptop? This is very annoying so I'm shopping for a quieter one. Thank you!

- Answer Yes, but on medium-low settings. This is the Q series which is designed for aesthetics, features and performance. It allows the bare minimum for gaming so if that is important to you I would look at ROG series, which was made for gamers.

- Answer Yes, yes & no on the CD burner, yes on adding eternal hard drive, this computer can do it all. I'm a Drone Pilot and I edit my pictures and videos with Adobe premiere elements 15 with no issues, lighting fast and yes I would recommend this product for purchase.

- Answer It is 7th gen and in addition to Regular HDD there is a slot to add M2 Drive. Just open the back cover and you will be able to see it yourself.

- Answer I'm a college freshman and I personally love this computer. I am currently studying anatomy, mostly the muscles and there functions. I have downloaded aplicacion to help me study and I have been running multiple pages at the same time and I have never had a problem. It has the ability to turn the display screen completely to the other side making it easy to show case your work or just use it as a tablet. The fact that it has the most memory in the market makes it wonderful for saving all the work a college student may have.

- Answer Yes there is a camera mounted above the screen. It can be used for facial recognition to sign on or a piece of masking tape or a decorative sticker to block image taking until you want it to be done.. Hope this helps.
