Your have to ask the "powers that be" at ASUS to ask them why they were trying to copy the design language of the Surface Pro. We are just folks who bought the device. And yes, I also think that the choice of the 2230 was pretty stupid, mostly because I have UMPC "gaming devices (like the GPD Win Max and AYA Neo) that use the 2284 side NVmE cards with no problems whatsoever. At this time, I recommend using an enclosure with a 2TB 2284 NVmE to supplement storage.
