• Basically one hooks into graphics card and one one hooks into rest of PC... always plug in both. Hope this helps!

• You need them both. All the time. One runs the GPU and one runs the CPU, using two improves load efficiency. They put it on the outside as opposed to the traditional internal power supply to assist with cooling.

• One is for the computer. The other is for the video card. Has worked great for me.

• One of them feeds the graphics card. You can unplug this and use single outlet, but then you will be using the onboard graphics card. Make sure you install the driver of the onboard graphics card first.
