A:Answer That depends. If you don't mind the TN panel (or have a cheap way to upgrade it), then this model is the best value. The IPS panel versions start at $1399.00, but you may be able to find one on a sale. I looked at one in the store, and the screen did not get as bright as some of the other laptops around it, but the color production looked about the same to me other than the general brightness level being lower. I can see it being annoying if you are trying to use it under a lot of bright lights, but under normal or dim lighting conditions, it will probably look okay. I have seen people complain about the colors being washed out, though, so my best advice would be to find a store close to you and look at their display model to determine if it is acceptable to you.
For SSDs, you can add a PCIE type as an additional hard drive or replace the installed HDD with a standard laptop size SSD.
