“is the usb stick stored inside of the mouse like other mouses? i bought a desktop that came with this mouse but i can't find the usb stick anywhere and i don't know how to open the mouse if it is in fact stored inside”

The rear of the top shell slides back, and under it you will find the batt. and the wi-fi dongle The lack of any instructions makes it hard to figure this out.
