QuestionI’m planning on buying a gaming laptop sometime soon, most website reviews warn about the liquid cooling issue and was wondering if bestbuy still sells the faulty devices or they’ve removed them from stock and sell the newer m6/7?

- Answer I originally got this laptop in May, havent had heating issues. Sure they tend to be abnormal but for the specs the cooling is pretty great. Though ive heard murmurs and read online about undervolting and such with the included Armory Crate or other programs like MSI Afterburner.

- Answer I'm not 100% but you buy open box at your own risk. Best buy doesn't check for any hardware modifications that could void the original manf warranty. Whatever warrenty best buy provides for open box items is likely all you will get.

QuestionI have a monitor with a displayport and this laptop has hdmi, can you reccomend a cable I can use to connect them for a second monitor?

- Answer Almost certain USB-C to HMDI to connect directly to the GPU, unless you want to just connect it directly with an HDMI to say a tv to use as your monitor.....unfortunately the HDMI on the side doesnt directly go to the GPU whereas the other in the back does (The USB type C port)

QuestionIs the fastest slot for SSD going to be the one in use? If so if I added another should I replace the one in use for a new one and put the old in the "slower slot"? For the ram what's the max mhz the laptop can handle is it 3600mhz or more possibly?

- Answer Both nvme slots support the same speed. I'd keep the OS on the installed slot and add into the empty for all your programs/games. I don't remember the speed of the SSD installed but I bought Samsung 970evo plus and it's definitely faster.

QuestionI need to buy a very capable laptop that can handle all of my music productions, VST, sounds, everything. Which if any of these models would be capable of handling such a big load with so much work from my DAW. Memory, extra usb plug ins a must.

QuestionCan anyone who has recently purchased this Strix G15 Advantage edition please tell us what letter and number the serial number on the box starts with (ex: M4, M5, M6, M7)?

- Answer Serial number beginning: M means year 2021. N means year 2022. For 21 year, The number is the month of manifacturing. So, N4 has been manifactured in April 2022. Mine is MANRK and on the bottom of laptop it is 10 2021.. No clue how that works out. Try to get one that starts with N you can see the serial on the side of th box without opening.. only the date can be actuallly seen on the bottom of the laptop itself.

- Answer It will be able to maintain the 60FPS given the variables set in-game and the tuning software from ROG Armoury Crate. AMD Ryzen Mobile is famous for energy efficiency when utilized correctly. Advice is always verify/upgrade your ram for that performance boost which is a known improvement for AMD CPU's.

- Answer Please be patient the new Ryzen 6000 Series has just been announced which will have the RDNA 2 ZEN 3+ architecture built into the CPU. It will utilize the same technology as the current Gen. gaming consoles, when paired with a capable graphics card RTX or Radeon is a win-win situation. The 5900HX is great but personally I didn't see this coming and would be a fan of the next rendition. If they do continue to re-stock the price point is still an awesome plus!!! Great Value!

- Answer The only difference with the advantage edition laptop is that its made up of all AMD internals rather than using Intel or Nvidia components.
