• Yes it's upgradable to 40Gb despite the listed specs.

• Correct - listed specs are wrong (as Best Buy messes up on about 1/3 of computer specs) - the soldered RAM is reported to be 16 GB so you can add a 32 GB stick to get to 48 GB, or add a 16 GB stick to get to 32 GB. No need to throw any memory away when you uograde.
