• MacBook Pro peak brightness is 500 nits, this laptop peak brightness is 270 nits. I own both the 2021 G14 and the 2021 MBP M1. The Asus laptop is not usable outdoors.

• The display I got seems to be definitely bright enough. Maybe not in direct sunlight but it looks good!

• Can't speak for the 2020 version, but from my experience this screen is pretty bright. I formerly used a macbook pro with a retina display, and I'd say it's comparable.
