• Yes, It has metal chassis. The hinges and body are made of aluminium and are very strong. I have used it for a while now and I have had no problem with it.

• I've had this laptop for over a month. It's a metal body and the hinges are solid. I wouldn't recommend using it on your lap though. It's a super slim, portable desktop computer. Put it on a flat surface and plug it in.
