It's because it has over 1000 mini white LEDs in the back of the display in which you can display a word or gif, it's the feature Asus calls "Anime matrix". It basically is a "cool feature" and won't actually affect performance, there is the white model of this device which as you said is $600 less and it has the same performance but the white model has a 120hz refresh rate and a 1080p display while this one has a 60hz refresh rate and a 1440p display. So you choose which one suits you better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.key difference between the white model are: Black: QHD 60hz + Matrix lighting White: FHD 120hz (Recommended For Gaming IMO)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it's because of the anime matrix on outer lid
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The other difference is a major one. The lid on this version has the AniMeMatrix LED lights on top of it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's what you said and the anime matrix on the rear of the display panel that's bumping up the price. This is also the same price as the one on the direct asus store for this model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. But this model has also the AniMe Matrix LCD.
