Good for the job
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a decent amount of research before buying this laptop. I knew right away I did not want something bigger than 14 inches. In fact, for me in particular, 14 inches is the ideal size to provide portability, comfort and an optimal viewing experience. I wasn't looking for a heavy duty editing or gaming laptop. I do some gaming on the side and some use of the Adobe services/platforms but this was mainly for my job. This was a good buy. Here are the pros: -light and portable -fast -eye-turning -easy to use -finger print login access as you turn it on -graphics card performance under heavy use -quality of screen -Black design with the lighting works well (compared to the white design) Cons: -Fan noise (it can get loud) -Graphics can be weird (when I use a video conference service, the quality of the images is distorted, it looks as if I'm watching a VHS home video) -It sometimes does not know which is the main display when connected to second/third monitor (for example, it might show that display 1 is the main display but taskbar and icons are showing in a different display) for this the connection needs to be reset to fix -USB hubs should be either on the back or the left side of a gaming laptop-- this one has two in the right side -Screen brightness when on battery is low -No camera (not an issue for me, just noting it) I use this with a USB dock, having three monitors connected to it, and am happy to say it does the job. It outperforms an i7 even though this device was not listed as compatible. Again, the only issue is some graphics problems when using video conferencing. But other than that, this thing performs great. I throw somewhat heavy work at it on a daily basis and I feel confident working knowing the device is not going to let me down. The pricing itself was a bit of an issue, now in retrospect, because I bought this when new models came out. It seems I could have waited a week to buy a newer device for cheaper and with better performance. But that's life, I suppose.

Best computer I've ever owned
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is the fastest, coolest laptop I have ever owned, and the AniMe Matrix lights are my favorite part. Turns heads for sure wherever I go. Make sure you update the drivers though (fairly easy to do, it comes with a built-in ASUS app for that). The other negative reviews about this crashing are honestly unfair. You should have some basic knowledge about how to use/maintain a computer - look elsewhere if you are still figuring out the difference between a keyboard and a USB stick.

Great Gaming Laptop Though With Display Issues.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The G14 is a great laptop! Runs games and editing hadn’t been so much better with this laptop. Though first day I bought and opened up the box the screen had a line on the display screen. Which I was kind of disappointed in having bought a $1,300 laptop and dealing with a hardware issue. But other then just that issue the laptop is great if it isn’t dealt with a problem like mine had.

Way too many blue screens!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When this laptop worked it was very nice. We bought this for my son for college. It is light and has great battery life. For after classes you get a gamer-ready laptop without the bling that says your're a gamer. Unfortunately, the amount of blue screens on this is unacceptable. We looked at reddit and updated the firmware, etc. and the problem continued to persist. You can read about USB not working without a reboot. Can you imagine being in your online class and getting a random blue screen? If not for that, I would give this 5 stars.... when it works. We returned it and are now trying the lower model.

Posted .Dear anon,
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused you. What were the error codes given to when the crash occurred? You may need to update your video card via Geforce Experience. If the issues persist, feel free to contact me if you have any technical or general questions. You can reach me at cl-adrian@asus.com. Love my new laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven’t had any issues with the laptop so far. Runs everything smoothly and has a good battery life. Plays my games well. Fan noise is noticeable when playing a graphically intense game. Lack of webcam is a downside, but at least I know the government isn’t watching.

Great PC
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great PC! Unfortunately I bought it at the wrong time. The 2021 RTX3060-5900HS was coming out. I returned this PC for no reason other than I'm waiting for the newer version. From all the reviews the performance is not overwhelming between the 2020 and the 2021 version. I'm holding out for the better screen (2K), only because I'm particular on clarity. If you really want this PC, wait for the discounted price, ASUS is now selling it for $1699.00.

Q: QuestionHello, Is this model equipped by 16gb on board (soldered)? or 8gb soldered ? I would like to increase the memory to 32gb later with the 16gb soldered and add 16gb ddr4 on the slot.
Asked by Sy.
- A:Answer 8GB is soldered unfortunately...they really should have made it 16GB soldered. You can throw in a 32GB stick into the single open slot to get it to 40GB but only the first 16GB will be dual channel speeds...

Q: QuestionLooking at the specs, the only difference I can find between this model and another that is $600 cheaper is the resolution of the screen and the color of the case. I feel like I'm missing something; why are the prices so varied?
Asked by Dom.
- A:Answer It's because it has over 1000 mini white LEDs in the back of the display in which you can display a word or gif, it's the feature Asus calls "Anime matrix". It basically is a "cool feature" and won't actually affect performance, there is the white model of this device which as you said is $600 less and it has the same performance but the white model has a 120hz refresh rate and a 1080p display while this one has a 60hz refresh rate and a 1440p display. So you choose which one suits you better.

Q: QuestionIs the exterior material (i.e., on the back of the screen and bottom of the chassis) of this model plastic or metallic?
Asked by JosefC.
- A:Answer The lid or back of the screen is aluminum alloy and the casing is magnesium alloy.

Q: QuestionGetting a USB-C monitor that can charge this Rog G14 . I understand that to get its full speed it needs to be plugged in to the wall outlet. Can this computer be used with the USB-C monitor and plugged to the wall at the same. Double charging OK?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The ASUS answer is incorrect. A USB-C monitor does charge this computer battery. The question asked is can you do both. Yes you can, but this might damage the computer. Please confirm ASUS...
