“Is it normal for this laptop to get supper hot while on sleep/hibernate mode? I would step away from this laptop for a few hours and when I come back to it regardless of being plugged in or not, it just gets supper hot. Did I get a defective unit?”

I went back and exchanged the laptop for the same one. Something was wrong with my first one. It would run higher temps under light use and will basically cook in sleep mode or hibernate mode. The new one runs way cooler compared to the old one and I can leave it on sleep mode without any worry.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m guessing it isn’t sleeping. If there’s a mouse or game pad / controller attached it may be waking it up from sleep and causing it to be running with the lid closed and screen off.
