My ASUS router has the same design and stared doing the same thing. My router was sitting on my desk in one corner of the house but, I had not used the stand that came with it. The router always felt pretty warm so I put the stand on and never had an issue again.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check the system log (see section 4.7 of the manual). There you should see the reason for the shut down or the reboot. You can confirm this by looking at the "uptime" value. That will confirm how long it was running. If it always says 3 hours then it is rebooting a lot. If it says several days then maybe it is not rebooting but some other issue. You need to confirm that it is happening and look to see what the device thinks is going on.
