The bios is updated to where you will be able to use it right out of the box. If you want to use the smart access memory you have to update the bios to the newest version and enable that setting.

Please try again later.There is a possibility to update the BIOS; however ASUS states it is ready to start out the box, I would assemble it out the box without the BIOS update- this is safe on this motherboard. However, AMD and AMD motherboards are back to its CPU naming\model, bios, chipset confusion again. I just upgraded my system (reluctantly) to Zen 2 Architecture- 3 Generation or also known as the Ryzen 7 3700X (excellent by the way, but not enough for my upgrading). Why? Because a Ryzen 7 Zen 1 Architecture Gen 1 (1700X) will not work; However Ryzen 2 Gen 1 with Radeon GPU is supported, Example: (Ryzen 3 2200G).
