As to your second question, while this laptop can handle multi tasking with little problem, it cannot necessarily do so with the 8GB that is the default configuration. I recommend adding at least another 8GB, and preferably more (24GB up). It matters little whether your games are in the background: any active game will use RAM, CPU and graphics processing power.
