This laptop would be a very good choice for that. I have a very similarly spec-ed ASUS and it flies through Office work and web stuff. If you pull the trigger on this one, make sure to change the file location of your downloads, documents, and pictures (in windows explorer, right click Downloads,etc, select properties, go to Location tab) to point to your HDD (D:) drive so you don't fill up the SD with large storage files.

I would NOT recommend anyone purchase this laptop, unless you are willing to run the risk of being without it if/when you have to send it to Asus for repairs. If I were able to return it (Best Buy did not let me because it was 3 months after purchase when I first started having problems), I would have gotten another brand. This was my first and last Asus purchase. I hope this helps you in your decision.
