• There is a small hole in the top/display/lid, to the right of the camera. That may be the microphone. Unused with this VivoBook I7 17-inch laptop. ASUS tech support should have more clarifying information.

• Yes, the laptop has a built-in microphone. It is in the Control Panel > Sound. It will automatically turn on when an audio application is opened.
