“I was currently looking at the Asus Q304 and a technician told me it was high quality. I don't need the 2 in 1 touch screen. Although the Q304 has 6 gb instead of 4, is this laptop close to the quality of the Q304?”

If you can get a 6 GB system for comparable price that would be preferred. I bought this computer and mine failed in less than a month. I had an HP with the same specs for over 2 years with no problem.
