Is this unit capable of playing region one DVDs? null

Yes I think you can go in and change it to any region but that is done in the properties of the unit when you right mouse button and select properties in windows then you can change the region see pic

Yes, we've played numerous region 1 DVDs since we got it. You can actually select what region DVDs this drive plays, but you can only change the region four times. Once you use all your region changes the drive will remain set for the last region selected, uninstalling and reinstalling or installing on another computer still won't allow you to change the setting, so choose your region with care.
