Bottom line, it has a USB connection built in and yes, it can be used with any Windows Device (and even the Mac Devices nowadays too). I'll caution you here about leaving any serial numbers anywhere -- just tell us it's an HP computer, with what ports available built in. (I used this device to read some of my old DVDs that I backed up my photos on to download them onto my newest backup hard drive).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We use this drive on hp and dell laptops. Works great with no issues so far.. we trust the Asus products that's why we selected it. It comes with the cable to connect to your PC. On one end it is a small connector to connect to the drive, the other end is a double end with 2 usb connectors that plug into the PC. It says there are 2 so that it can get extra power from pc if it needs it. The drive powers from pc, there is nno power cord connection. I can read cd or dvd with only 1 usb plugged in. I highly recommend this product.
