Italian is one of the languages that can be chosen in settings. I know nothing about European carriers. It is a GSM phone so I doubt hooking up with many European carriers would be a problem. I’d check this out with others who know much more about the subject than I do. By the way it is a truly great phone for the money. I ‘m very pleased with it so far!
