New to Android
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS ZenFone Max has worked as represented by the sales representative. It has worked successfully. My issue is about learning Android as I had previously had Windows Phones, and so was use to the way those apps functioned and the link back to my Windows 10 PC. However, after searching on line about the Google Store Apps, including the new apps provided by Microsoft for Android, I'm becoming more comfortable with the functionality, especially the camera capability. So I'm becoming much more comfortable with the ZenFone and glad to have this. Especially as it is also very reasonably priced. Also it was recommended to get a case, and found a rubberized case online that works well. Although still disappointed that Microsoft has stopped supporting the Windows Phone.

Works great for the money.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything works just fine. If pictures are your most important feature you might not be too happy. I replaced a Moto G5 plus that went swimming on a river float and it took better quality pictures.

The good with the bad
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does indeed have a huge battery, which does last forever, so long as the screen isn't on. Once the screen is on, it drains like 1% per minute. It has a lot of battery saving features, that seem to do nothing but make the phone less of a phone? I don't get notifications well over half the time, not even for phone calls. The tmobile vm turns notifications off itself too. I don't understand why anyone thought that was a good idea. I'm on call for work, I need to call back within 15 minutes of a call, but if I'm not even told I get a call much less that a message was left, how will I keep my job? Oh yea, need to check the phone every 15 minutes... Anyway, that isn't the phones fault, but the carrier. The phone itself is pretty quick, Just wish the battery saving functions worked so the screen didn't burn through the battery.

My iPod replacement!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this phone to replace my iPod Classic! This phone has removable storage up to 2TB (2TB!!!!!) I was able to insert my 512GB micro SD card and have my entire music library of 427GB on one device!! I downloaded Blackplayer music player from Google Play Store at a small fee and was able to customize Blackplayer to my liking in many different fields and user interface - Bp allows for cover art and metadata customization too! I deleted or disabled all the bloatware and stock apps on the Asus Zenfone and only kept the Wi-Fi enabled with a few other features - I keep it in airplane mode and turned back on the Wi-Fi . . . Long battery life and sounds great for a phone - mind you, all the music files are mp3 or compressed or unprotect AAC files; so no Hi Res files and they sound just as good as the iPod Classic! Some cons tho . . . I have purchased every case they sell on Amazon for this phone and hate them all - sharp edges or too flimsy - I have yet to solve the gym / mountain biking arm band situation (maybe just keep using the iPod?) . . . But at least I have all my music on one device - it is Android and if you are a music streamer you can obviously do that too - I prefer to own my music vs leasing it - plus I don't have to worry about download this or that before leaving the house or going down to the subway! Discovering this phone and the beauty of Blackplayer music player is a big middle finger to Apple and iTunes!!! My only other choice was a new Apple iPhone at 12 times the price of this phone - which this phone works wonderfully at 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage with a whopping 2TB removable storage - I downloaded widgets to have volume control on the home screen and in the notifications - Blackplayer has it's own equalizer as well as the phone but it's not very good compared to Bp . . . I tried several DAPs before this phone and other phones - I did a Sony walkman nw-a45 that was useless and horrible UI and a HiBy R6 and R3 that was a complete waste of time and money (All three over 200 plus dollars) - I tried a Sony Xperia 10 phone using the Sony stock music player that was not customizable . . . I even did the Asus Zenfone Live 1 (which was great and on sale for 59 bucks) but was only 1 GB of RAM and sort of slow with the album covers . . . Returned it and got this Asus Zenfone Max Plus on sale for 160 and it has been a blessing! Now if could just solve the armband situation!

It's decent fairly inexpensive phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this phone nearly a year ago. So far I'm happy with it. The camera is fairly decent. I did have a problem where it would not focus properly with autofocus. I went on YouTube and looked up my phone and was able to get it to work properly. Mine has 32 GB of memory, and 4 g. I think it said it advertised that it had LTE but it has not shown up on my phone. Just recently I've had some issues with it where the screen went black. I thought oh crud. Again I looked it up, then found a solution. All I had to do was hit the volume down button and the power button simultaneously for about 10 to 15 seconds. Another solution said if that didn't work, to plug it into a wall charger. I gave it 5 minutes and it was fine. This might be attributed to the amount of apps on the phone though. My son has this phone to and has had no problems with his. Also I thought I would mention that mine came with 7.0 OS. Asus does have downloads. Make sure to keep up with the downloads. They upgraded it 8.0 operating system, which is great. I also wanted to say that it also has a great battery. in fact, it comes with a little cord that you can actually charge something else using your phone as an auxiliary charger. Anyway, I'm fairly happy with this phone. I think for the price it was a good purchase.

Great price-features balance ASUS MAX+ M1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I´ve been using Asus phone for a wall. Their operation over dual-sim mode has been always excellent. I have to confess that from a multimedia perspective, Asus has a long way ahead with their phone cameras and that some compatibility issues with headphones has been with their products for a while but from other perspectives (price, battery life, solidness and stability) I would strongly recommend their products.
