I have this one (z380m zenpad 8) and out of the box had android 6, 2 weeks ago it got an upgrade to android 7, it runs very smooth.

I can't post a link), 6.0 Marshmallow has finally become internationally available for the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 this week. However, the update is a manual update and not a regular OTA update. Tabletmonkeys' article provides links you need to get your device updated. Of course Asus' support website will have everything you need as well.

ASUS is top dog when it comes to keeping their hardware up to date. They are also well known among the "Power User" community as a high end manufacturer of electronic components. This tablet is a steal for what you get. We have ASUS phones, tablets, computer parts, routers, etc and all perform well above the so called "Flagship" brands. You have nothing to worry about.
