The keyboard does adjust in size. Not sure how large you think your grandparents might need it but it does get large enough to take up over half the screen when typing. You can also change the color and style of the keyboard if that would make it better. The tablet itself is awsome. I bought one for my daughter about 6 to 9 months ago, she is putting it to the test! I upgraded from a 7 inch ASUS to the same tablet, this 8 inch, and love it. It is a very nice tablet for the money. I think you can also get Bluetooth keyboards if you need something full size.
