Is there any type of water proofing? I'm not talking about showers or swimming, I am taking about washing your hands or getting stuck in a rain storm. null

Actually, showering is OK. Personal experience. No problems. Swimming not recommend because of water velocity involved. Splashing absolutely OK. It has a water resistant rating = 30 minutes under three feet of water. But not considered water proof.

From what I've been told and what is graded it can withstand showering or swimming. So, if it can handle that I guarantee you it will handle washing your hands.

yes. up to 3 feet of water for 30 min...some mill spec rating but im not sure what it is
