• Yes you can operate it, but it should be paired with your unit or it should be a companion to your unit.

• Gear Live should be a companion to your phone. So if you have a compatible phone (bluetooth enabled phone with Android OS 4.3 or above), you should be able to use the Gear Live anywhere in the world.
