Q: QuestionCan you set this machine to make incoming messages silent? In other words, can you receive messages without hearing them come in? I am looking for something to take calls silently.
Asked by Message.
- A:Answer I have an older model of an AT&T digital answering machine (#1719) from about 15 years ago that we really liked and it has just died. I plan to buy this model to replace the old one. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that if you turn the volume down as low as it will go, you will not hear incoming messages. You will have to remember to turn volume up to hear the incoming recorded messages. This would also mean you will not hear incoming calls to screen the calls as we did. I take the approach that if they don't leave a message, they did not really want to talk to me - Robocalls!
