- Answer I bought this to replace my answering machine and phone in my kitchen. It was easy to install and having an extra phone allowed me to place it in a room that did not have a phone yet. My phone carrier is not AT&T and I had no problems with the phone. It works fine. So in answer to your question, I think the phone will work fine no matter who your carrier is.
