Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Answering machine has its own on/off button. So you can keep it off. And Voicemail is nonexistent unless you have through phone provider. (Incoming cell calls do not go to this phones answering machine, only to your cell voice mail). In fact I used to have a wall phone/answering machine and different set off panasonics very similar to these and I never turned their answering machine on, always just used my wall phone one by another company. So it's optional whether or not you use that function.
