• No, you have to have a compatible expansion phone. Not sure what the expansion phone model number is but you can find out on Best Buy.com

• It depends on compatibility. It's a matter of going into the older phone and resetting it to align with the new model. Not sure of all of the specifics involved as I don't have the manual with me but, it's located in there. Very simple steps if they are compatible.
