A:AnswerI replaced an even older ATT hotspot device (Elevate 754S) with the Nighthawk. The Nighthawk works on its own and your Velocity becomes a new paperweight.
Once the Nighthawk is activated (BestBuy was able to do that in store when I bought it) you just need to install the battery and go through a simple set up procedure. I was online in less than 10 minutes after I got it home with very good speeds considering I live in the middle of no where between Sandy & Welches, Oregon. This is my only source of internet at home!

A:AnswerYou will have to get ATT to unlock the device. Bought from BestBuy it is locked to ATT. Call OOMA first to see if they will even give you a sim card.
