I currently use ATT prepaid, and if you don’t want to use the refill cards, then you can create an online account at ATT and have the amount automatically deducted from your credit or debit account if that’s better for you. Some plans also qualify for a discount when you sign up for autopay.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had a prepaid ATT phone (also known as a GoPhone) for about 10 years, and I LOVE it! I got one for my husband for emergency use only. We both pay just 10¢ per minute, and if you do not really use the phone a lot, this is great. My husband uses his very little, but ALWAYS has it with him for emergency use, like calling me from a store to make sure he gets the right item I sent him for. I myself use mine to text all the time so I add 'add-ons' that give me a fabulous rate. You can pay $25 for 3 months; OR $100 for a whole year. If you do not use the phone a lot; it's better to do the $100 a year and you won't have to worry about missing the deadline every 3 months to refill your money on the phone. My husband has a flip phone, which is inexpensive, and I have a Smart-phone. I actually do not go online at all with mine, so I do not have a data plan. But I use mine a LOT to take tons of pictures of our grandkids. You might want to start out with a GoPhone and just pay $25 that will last for 3 months, unless you use the phone a lot more and you need to refill the money. This has NO prepaid card; and if you go online for this person, you can keep track of how much they use the phone. Just remember***** If you do NOT use up the entire $25 after the 3 months, you must STILL refill it, or you will lose the money left on it. I spend $100 for an ENTIRE YEAR, which is what most people spend in 2 months! Trust me... this is the way to go :) Also... make sure the person can see the keys and screen well enough before you buy- go into the store and let them try the buttons.
