• Yes it can be used with dial tone. It is a very good phone except for a few flaws. The OFF button does not work. If I am resting and I turned the phone off it still rings. I do not know if mine is defective, I have to unplug it from the wall so that it does not disturb us. Some enhancements are needed. The fonts should be larger or the back-light should be brighter. The phone cord should be longer. Give us another color such as beige or tan instead of only white. A very good phone.
