Old School Phone
||Posted .We live on an island that can easily be cut off from the world by weather. We wanted a landline phone, and this model was affordable. It's a sleek design for a corded phone. Works well & could be a lifesaver someday.

Great phone!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This is a wonderful phone! It was fairly easy to install. The batteries help to insure a loud ring. It's relatively small, so it fits in small places. We are delighted with our new phone!

Q: QuestionBack lit caller ID /Batteries needed?Is the caller id panel back lit? I need to use it in my bedroom at night. Also, does it use batteries or have an AC adapter?

- A:Answer THIS PHONE IS NOT BACK-LIT! It does use batteries to power the caller-id panel. Which you can only see if you turn on the lights! And the print is tiny! You need the Hubble to read this thing even if you got the sun in your bedroom. It does not need a power adapter. This is Old School technology. All land line phones get their power directly from the copper cable that connects to the phone and this cable also carries the phone signal (gives you a dial-tone). That is why I bought this thing. For security. If the power grid ever crashes I would still have a way to dial 911. **cordless phones_no power from wall means phone can not generate and send a signal to your wireless handset** Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionCan you hang this on a wall?

- A:Answer Looks like you can from the back. There's a hole to hang on a nail, and looks like you can pop out a piece to make the handset hold onto the front, but it didn't pop out easy to test. I didn't want to break it to see if it would work.

- A:Answer No. This is an analog phone that connects directly to the phone jack. It's good to have one of this in the house because when the power is out, VOIP and digital phones don't work.

- A:Answer Yes, you can plug a longer cord into the back of the phone. However, it does need to fit through the little opening under the base for the phone to sit flat. It comes with a 2 conductor cord.
