Correct! But you still need to purchase a prepaid card $30-$50-$80 and it eill provide you with internet connection via wifi rather than using ur phone plane data! If u have Direct TV and ur cell phone is AT&T call up AT&T and tell them in your house younhave direct TV and they will change your plan to UNLIMITED EVERYTHING

If you do not have a data plan, then there is no data allotment to be used. Unless you are going to use it for streaming photos, play music, or videos via a 32GB micro sd card (sold separately) over the device's wi-fi signal. If you are going to use this device on a shared plan then it will be using up any and all data plan allotment. If you are going to connect to cellular data via prepaid account and pay with preloaded cards then it too will use allotment.
