I read that it needed to be mounted to the wall for security. Not what i needed so I returned it. Look for one that has sturdy sides and a larger bottom. That should keep it from tipping over. Good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No problem with a lean with my bookcase. I didn't attach mine to the wall, even though I live in earthquake county. Good luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Easily assembled and holds all my movies! I'd buy another one!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My media stand sits straight up and level on a carpet. Just set it flush with the wall and it should not have to mounted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it does not. It stands perfectly vertically. It SHOULD be fastened to the wall (I think a strap is included for that purpose). With other bookcases, I have put something under the front edge of the base to force the unit to lean slightly back... but once you fill this bookcase it's risky (in my opinion) to have it unattached to the wall.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So I have a few of these and there all different sizes. Now from mine they're actually sitting on top of a dresser. So I don't have typically setup. I have had mine on the floor before and it did Lean because of the softness of the carpet. What I ended up doing was I took a thin board from Home Depot spray painted it black and sat my shelving unit on top of it. That stopped it from swaying back and forth. So if you don't have hardwood floor and you put it on carpet there is a good possibility that it could lean a little bit depending on what you have on it and where it is on it. If you do decide to have it on carpet use something that's wider on the bottom for it to sit on.
